One Month (and 3 days)
So, I have taken on the helm of doing an LCHF diet along with my cousin. I’ve only lost 19 lbs since starting it. It would be more if my weight hadn’t gone up last week and didn’t lose anything this week so far. (Tomorrow I will weigh officially for this week). I’ve been kind of down about it and I think I need to edit my macros (macro-nutrients) to try and step up the fat burn. I know that I am being hard on myself and you would think that I am, but the fact that I’ve been stalled out for two weeks kind of makes me a tiny bit worried/irritated. My goal albeit unrealistic is to lose a total of 40 lbs by July. Which at the rate I had been losing is completely doable. I think there are a few culprits to the demise of my ketosis.
1. Watermelon — we bought a couple of watermelons this month and I think the sugar has stalled me out.
2. Hidden Carbs — I’ve been a little bit lazy and have not been making my own lunch and I think there has to have been some sugar in some of the foods I’ve been eating.
3. No Control Weekends – I usually only allow myself one day a week to just eat the way I crave. But somehow by the end of this month it has turned into Friday, Saturday AND Sunday eating whatever I want and yea that doesn’t help.
So I’m going to try to be a lot stricter this coming month and hopefully jump-start my weight loss again. At least for now, I’ve seen some changes. The pants I bought before I started eating this way barely fit. I mean they fit tight. I figured I was going on a diet and they’d fit okay soon. Well now those pants fit pretty loose and I’m pretty sure they won’t fit after 10 more lbs of loss. Generally my clothes have been fitting better, but I still don’t look good naked and that is pretty much my goal. I want to flatten my stomach and lose some of the notorious back fat.
A few things I did try was, I tried to join an LCHF community on Facebook but found that a lot of them were on some pretty high horses and weren’t very tolerant about other people’s troubles. Also, I started reading the subreddit for LCHF and found some pretty helpful things and some other not-so-helpful things. I may try to join that community since it should spam the shit out of my phone all day. I’m really looking for good food alternatives. I don’t eat fish and I don’t eat tomatoes or squash. Something about those textures really make me gag to-the-max. But for the most part, I am pretty adventurous. So if anyone (especially my readers) has any good Low Carb High Fat ideas or just Low Carb ideas in general, by all means please send them on my way!!
But I guess I’ve done pretty well so far considering. Hopefully next month I’ll have something much better to report.
But, for now I think I am going to go to the store this weekend and get a nice fatty brisket and cook it to have for lunch next week.
